The DesignaKnit CAD programme is a highly powerful computer software package which can link domestic and some industrial knitting machines via an appropriate cable link to your computer.
Features of the programme include: Standard Pattern Drafting, Original Pattern Drafting, Stitch Designer, Interactive Knitting & Graphics studio. Depending on the package level purchased. There are many different facets to this software. Claire specialises in teaching beginners to advanced knitters and students, on all aspects of the program in one-to-one, bespoke lessons or face-to-face in her studio based in the UK.

Experience
A knitwear designer for over 35 years, Claire can see the benefits of using CAD programs such as DesignaKnit, not only for knitwear design, but also for speed & accuracy when knitting sample concepts.
Claire has vast experience of using DesignaKnit on many electronic & punch card domestic knitting machines. Silver Reed, Knitmaster, Brother & Passap machines using techniques ranging from double bed jacquard, lace, garter carriage, fair isle, tuck & hand manipulations such as cabling & fashioning garment shapes using the Interactive Knitting part of the program.
Claire teaches one-to-one, bespoke lessons either online anywhere in the world or face-to-face in the studio based in Northampton, UK. The studio is 50 minutes by train from Euston, London, with pick up & drop off to the station included.

Claire has specialist CAD software linked to a range of computerised knitting machinery enabling her to design a range of beautiful knitwear design ideas for your company from mood boards, trend boards, shop reports to graphed designs, CAD simulations, to final prototype garments or swatches. We can create specs & packs for the FE too, easing your existing design room work load.
